Queer[ed] storyscapes framework
CoLabs are held with community artists between January and April each year. CoLabs work to build the foundation for the stories by providing context, capacity-building, critical community, and space for reflexivity. The CoLabs establish collective and individual empowerment, critical community building, and stronger sense of self for queer participants.
Throughout the CoLabs, participants begin to craft their stories for a collective art installation, with the culminating projects are completed by the end of April and a gallery showing is held in downtown Wilmington in May.
Digital stories and photographs are shared via interactive installations that are available for viewing at a bottega art gallery + wine. At the gallery, the larger Wilmington community will have the opportunity to engage in a deeper understanding of the queer[ed] stories that exist in the area but are often silenced.
